How to meal prep

January 26, 2020 by maddie

Why meal prep?

Meal prep is one of those things that is essential for losing weight or just staying healthy for busy people. Also it is for people that are on a budget and cant afford to eat out every day! Meal prepping is definitely one of my favorite things to do. The reason why is because I don’t have to worry during the week when I need to cook or finding time to cook the night before or morning of therefore meal prepping has become my best friend. However, it has taken me 2 years to really master meal prepping. So I am going to show you all my tips and tricks so you can eat healthy and achieve those fitness and health goals!

How to meal prep

Before you even think about meal prepping you must be sure of these things

  • You have all the groceries for the meals
  • You have find at least 1 hour of time
  • You have proper tupperware
  • You have to be willing to put in the WORK

Now you are ready to start meal prepping…

First thing, figure out exactly what meals you want to meal prep and make sure you get all the ingredients from the store!

Second thing, pre-heat the oven before you start meal prepping.

Third thing, while meal prepping do NOT try to do it all at once. Try to put certain things in the oven while cooking things on the stove , but make sure you set a timer!

Watch my video to learn exactly how and what I meal prep!!

xoxo

My go-to Breakfast

October 24, 2019 by maddie

Everyone has breakfast and meals that they love to make every morning. For me breakfast is definitely my favorite meal of the day. Not just because I get to eat, but to eat healthy nutritious food that I know will give me energy throughout the whole day.

Here is my go to breakfast for a simple, easy, and delicious meal to start off the day:

Ingredients:

  • 2 organic cage free local eggs
  • 1/3 cup of cage free egg whites
  • 2 teaspoons of Ghee butter
  • 3 pieces of central market black forest bacon
  • Sprinkle of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 a banana paleo birch benders waffle

toppings on waffle: banana, walnuts, local raw honey and coconut whip cream

Steps:

  1. Cook bacon first (because it takes the longest). I normally cut my bacon in half to cook it better
  2. While bacon is cooking start on the eggs
  3. Heat pan to medium and use 1 teaspoon of ghee butter in the pan
  4. In a seperate bowl scramble the eggs and egg whites together
  5. Cook the eggs until its pretty much done then add the bacon back into the eggs and cook for a little bit longer
  6. Heat waffle maker or heat another pan (if you want a pancake instead)
  7. Add water to the birch benders paleo mix and add cinnamon
  8. Once waffle is cooked add ghee butter and toppings and you are good to go 🙂

I hope y’all try this sweet and savory breakfast and let me know what you think!

3 Easy Healthy Treats

April 29, 2019 by maddie

Here are 3 easy, simple, delicious treats you can make at home! These recipes are meant to REPLACE all unhealthy desserts like cookies, ice cream, cake, oreos etc. I am using all WHOLE ingredients straight from the ground to fuel your body the right way and still see results in your weight loss or fitness journey while enjoying a treat every now and then. Although please remember everything in moderation. Do not eat the whole batch of treats. Limit yourself to 2-3 treats because if you go overboard it will not help you get the results that you want! Enjoy ? My youtube video is down below.

  1. No bake energy bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 2/3 cup coconut flakes
  • ½ cup of peanut butter
  • ½ cup of flax seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup of honey
  • ½ cup of semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  1. Put all the ingredients into a large bowl
  2. Mix all the ingredients together
  3. Then put in the fridge for 20-30 minutes
  4. After refrigerating then roll into 1 inch thick balls
  5. Store in an air tight container in the fridge and use when necessary

Peanut Butter Protein Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of peanut butter or almond butter
  • 2 scoops of vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup of coconut sugar

Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F degrees
  2. Mix all the ingredients into a bowl
  3. Make sure the consistency is like cookie dough
  4. Scoop 2 tablespoons out of the bowl and roll into a ball and press down to form a cookie
  5. Makes 10-12 cookies
  6. Put into the oven for 10-12 minutes
  7. Take out of the oven when its finished and let it cool down for 5 minutes before eating

Dates

Dates is a natural candy that comes from the ground and you can use it as a replacement for your other sweets because it is healthy for you. I would recommend only eating 3-4 dates because it can be high in sugar if you over eat it. You can buy them at your local health grocery store.

Please try these recipes and let me  know what you think ?
